Circumstances

John Zuern was 21 years old when he went missing from the London Psychiatric Hospital in London, Ontario on June 14, 1975. He did not return to his family home in Guelph, Ontario, and was reported missing by his family. He had been diagnosed as schizophrenic, and he walks with a pronounced limp. Mr. Zuern's brother reported seeing him in the Bloor & Spadina area of Toronto during the summer of 1980. He was believed to have been living on the streets at that time.
